RowingMachines - The Benefits Of Rowing Machines

RowingMachines

If you really want to have an awesome workout that not only burns calories but builds muscle, you should try using a rowing machine.  Have you ever seen anybody who regularly was out on the lake rowing in some way or another?  These people have some of the strongest backs and they are typically very lean because of the calories that are being burned while the doing this.  You can now do this exercise without water by having one of the rowing machines that are available in your home.  Of course, there are other reasons why you might want to choose this type of machine over another.

Rowing machines are one of the best pieces of exercise equipment for you to warm up for other exercises.  Since it works almost your entire body, from your legs to your arms and back, it helps to warm your entire body up before you do other exercises, such as weight lifting.  If you were to try lifting weights without warming up ahead of time, you would be prone to injuries that would not happen if you had been warmed up properly.  Getting your muscles ready for action is the best way for you to enjoy an injury free workout.

Rowing machines also do a lot more than simply give you a cardiovascular workout and burn calories while you are using it.  Often, this is the main downfall with other types of cardiovascular exercise equipment, such as treadmills or elliptical machines.  They do a good job of burning calories as long as you're sweating it out doing the exercises but once you stop, the calorie burn stops as well.  A rowing machine promotes lean body mass and this is something that is going to help you to burn calories, whether you are exercising or not.  As a matter of fact, 10 pounds of lean body mass burns 600 calories a day, I'm off to take a pound of body fat off per week without any other effort.

Rowingmachines do come with several different options but you might be surprised to learn that many of them are just simply basic exercises equipment.  One thing that you might want to get as an option, however, is something that will monitor your heart rate so that you can keep it at the optimum level.  It might also help if it records the amount of distance that you would have rowed, so that you can compare it against your previous workouts and give yourself something to shoot for in the future.
